Peru: New Ministerial Cabinet sworn in

President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday administered the oath of office to members of a reshuffled Cabinet to be led by Prime Minister Walter Martos, who will replace Pedro Cateriano in the post.

Starting today, the former Defense minister will head the Cabinet.


The new ministers sworn in today are: Jorge Chavez (Defense), Rosario Sasieta (Women-Vulnerable Populations), Javier Palacios (Labor-Employment Promotion), and Luis Miguel Inchaustegui (Energy-Mines).

The following high-ranking officials will hold their positions: Maria Antonieta Alva (Economy-Finance), Martin Benavides (Education), Jorge Montenegro (Agriculture-Irrigation), Alejandro Neyra (Culture), Mario Lopez (Foreign Affairs), Jorge Montoya (Interior), Pilar Mazzetti (Health), Jose Antonio Salardi (Production), Kirla Echegaray (Environment), Carlos Estremadoyro (Transport-Communications), Ana Cristina Neyra (Justice-Human Rights), Rocio Barrios (Foreign Trade-Tourism), Carlos Lozada (Housing-Construction-Sanitation), and Patricia Donayre (Development-Social Inclusion).

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima.
